Last week, we welcomed Jesse Six Dijkstra, Member of Parliament for the NSC. As a key member of the committees on digital affairs, justice, and security. he reports to the Parliament on AI and Quantum initiatives. This visit was a significant opportunity to showcase our advancements in quantum networks.
Together with Cisco’s Hein Dekkers and Jan Heijdra we focussed during this visit on:
Quantum Networks & Cryptography:
While much attention has been on quantum computing at the EU level, we emphasized the critical role quantum cryptography and quantum networks play in securing our communications.
Collaborative Innovation: We introduced Jesse to Q*Bird’s cutting-edge technology and highlighted our joint efforts with Cisco, particularly the exciting projects we are working on, like the one in the Port of Rotterdam.
Alignment with National Strategy: We demonstrated how our work not only advances the technology landscape but also aligns with the Netherlands’ national quantum strategy and EU-level initiatives.
Outcomes:
The discussions underscored the importance of including quantum networks in national security strategies. Jesse’s interest and insights are vital in ensuring quantum cryptography and networks gain the attention they deserve at the policy level.
This visit strengthens our momentum in pushing the boundaries of secure quantum communications and sets the stage for deeper collaboration between industry and government. Together, we aim to build a more secure digital future for the Netherlands and beyond.
