Quantum Meets ’25: Scaling security, quantum-secure communication in action!
Quantum Meets ’25 was a powerful reminder, that the future of secure communication is happening now, and Q*BIRD is leading the way! Over two days (14 and 15 May 2025) at Het Sieraad, Amsterdam, we showcased how quantum technology is moving from theory to real-world impact.
At Q-Expo booth #S10 on May 14, our Falqon® Series, a scalable, ready-to-use MDI QKD solution sparked conversations with industry experts, policymakers and innovators alike. Big thanks to our partner, Single Quantum for an an interactive day of conversations and hands-on engagement! One standout moment?! Our CTIO and Co-Founder Remon Berrevoets took the stage during the “Quantum Meets the Q-Expo Tour” to break down how Q*BIRD is turning quantum theory into real infrastructure and how we’re building practical quantum-secure network solutions that meet today’s security challenges!
On May 15, during the Plenary Sessions, our CEO and Co-Founder Ingrid Romijn joined a powerhouse panel “Security in the Quantum Era – Building Resilient Communication Networks” with leaders from evolutionQ, Proximus Group, Cisco and imec to discuss the urgent need for resilient communication networks in a quantum future. Ingrid explained how Q*BIRD’s QKD Falqon® Series solutions are ready to secure critical systems against tomorrow’s threats and shared why quantum security isn’t just the future, it’s the now.
One proud moment stood out during the Day 2 opening remarks. Erwin Nijsse – Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, Sameer Chauhan – UNICC, and Constantijn Van Oranje-Nassau – Techleap recognised Q*BIRD’s role in advancing Europe’s quantum communication. They highlighted our work at the Port of Rotterdam, where Q*BIRD is actively deploying MDI QKD quantum-secure technology highlighting the project as a leading example of real-world implementation in a critical international hub. The recognition reflected not just technological progress, but the strategic importance of securing critical infrastructure in Europe’s digital landscape. The message was clear: quantum security isn’t just an idea, it’s real, it’s here, and it’s vital for Europe’s digital future!
Throughout the event, there was a clear focus on moving from research to implementation turning complex quantum technologies into reliable, accessible solutions that address real security challenges!
