Overview

Q*Bird was thrilled to participate in the Quantum and Security event organised by the ISC2 NL Chapter, co-sponsored by the Rijksinspectie Digitale Infrastructuur (RDI), held in Amersfoort on 04 March 2026.

The event brought together cybersecurity professionals, policymakers and industry leaders to explore the evolving challenges in securing digital infrastructure in the quantum era. As quantum technologies continue to advance, securing critical communications and national assets becomes increasingly critical.

During the session, Dr. Ingrid Romijn, CEO and Co-Founder of Q*Bird, presented how Q*Bird’s Falqon® Series, powered by Measurement-Device-Independent Quantum Key Distribution (MDI-QKD), introduces a physics-based security layer designed to complement existing cybersecurity frameworks.

The presentation focused on how quantum secure communication can:

  • Strengthen the protection of sensitive data and critical communications.
  • Address emerging risks from quantum-enabled threats.
  • Support long-term resilience of digital infrastructure.

The session saw a strong turnout, with active participation and thought-provoking questions from attendees. Discussions centred on operational deployment, scalability and the integration of quantum secure technologies into existing infrastructure.

The exchange highlighted the growing interest in practical approaches to quantum security and the importance of collaboration between industry, government and the cybersecurity community.

Q*Bird’s participation in the ISC2 NL Chapter event reflects its continued engagement in advancing quantum secure communication and contributing to the broader dialogue on future-proof cybersecurity strategies.
