Overview
Quantum.Tech stands as one of the world’s leading gatherings for the quantum technology community, bringing together pioneers, researchers and industry experts to explore the innovations shaping our quantum future. Held from 29 September – 01 October 2025 in Rotterdam, this year’s edition offered an inspiring stage to connect, collaborate and highlight the progress being made toward real-world quantum solutions. Q*Bird was proud to exhibit at booth #QM5, where we welcomed visitors eager to learn how our MDI QKD Falqon® Series secures critical communication networks in the quantum era. Whether discussing the fundamentals of MDI QKD, exploring new partnerships or supporting organisations preparing for quantum-secure infrastructure, our team was excited to share how Q*Bird is helping build resilient, future-ready quantum communication networks.
Quantum.Tech 2025 also brought a remarkable moment of recognition for Q*Bird. Our CEO and Co-Founder, Dr. Ingrid Romijn, was named a Quantum.Tech Hot 10 Winner 2025. Celebrating leaders shaping the global quantum landscape, the Hot 10 Awards shine a spotlight on the visionaries pushing our field forward. Seeing Ingrid honoured among such an inspiring group of finalists is a proud milestone for Q*Bird and a testament to the importance of building secure and scalable quantum communication networks for our digital future. As Ingrid shared, “Receiving the Quantum.Tech Hot 10 Award is an incredible honour and this is not just about me. It’s about the amazing people I have the privilege to work with at Q*Bird and the wider quantum community driving the industry forward. When we started Q*Bird, our vision was clear, to build the foundations of a secure quantum internet that will protect our digital societies for generations to come against the looming quantum threats. This recognition reminds me how far we have come and how much potential still lies ahead if we keep daring, collaborating and innovating together with our ecosystem partners.”
We congratulate runner-up Dr. Keeper Layne Sharkey and all the finalists who continue to strengthen the global quantum ecosystem. Quantum.Tech also gave us the opportunity to highlight the latest evolution of our technology, including the newly launched Q*Bird Quantum Domain Controller (QDC), a web-based platform that centralises configuration, management, controlling and monitoring of Q*Bird’s QKD networks.
Designed to eliminate complex manual setup and accelerate deployment, the QDC reflects our commitment to building scalable quantum-secure networks. As quantum technologies advance, ensuring secure, scalable and interoperable communication becomes more essential than ever. Quantum.Tech reinforced the power of collaboration and the shared ambition to build a quantum-secure digital future and we are proud to contribute to that vision.
A warm thank-you to everyone who visited us in Rotterdam and engaged with our team.
